Brian joined the Moorabinda Croquet Club in 1975 when it was located at Samson Road after originally playing in Busselton.
At the time, Moorabinda was strictly a women’s club but he was allowed to join as an Associate Member.
When Moorabinda moved to Hay Park in 1980, his handyman skills were put to great use.
He made all the dividing fences, garden seats and tool boxes. Bryan was also instrumental in surrounding all 6 courts with rubber belting to protect the balls.
He was Secretary from 1982 to 1984, and during this period Moorabinda received significant damage from a cyclone.
Some of the sheds and much of the top soil was blown over the fence into Hay Park.
Bryan worked hard and long to persuade the insurance company to pay the considerable drainage bill.
An accredited coach, he also helped many new members in his bluff school teacher manner.
Bryan was Club Singles Champion in 1982, a member of the victorious Country Week team and B Grade Champion of the same tournament.
