Edith Crosby - 1988

  • When Edith joined the  Moorabinda Croquet Club in 1968 it was situated in Sampson Road with only one green and so when the Hay Park Complex was opened up in 1980, Edith was instrumental in persuading the club to apply for land.

  • As a result, the Council allocated space for 6 greens, club house and parking. Edith and an enthusiastic supportive group worked tirelessly on the planning and implementation. The result is the present Moorabinda Club, which at the time of its completion, was the largest croquet club in Australia.

  • Edith was an accomplished player and was a member  of the WACA Country winning team  in 1982. The shield is on display in our clubhouse.

  • Edith was the Club secretary between 1974 and 1982 and again  1984 and 1985.

  • In 1988 she was awarded Life Membership, eventually going on to serve as the Club's Patron during the 1990's.
